Bushing

Bushings are fittings that reduce the size of the pipe thread. They are usually hexagonal or round, and have male and female ends of different sizes.
Bushings can be made of various materials, such as brass, bronze, iron, steel, or plastic. Bushings are not rated by pressure, but by the pipe thread standard, such as NPT, BSP, or ISO.
